I did the very best that I could do describe my issues with my breathing and my cough.My primary even put the reason why I am there.Just felt like I was treated poorly and just made more confusion.Office staff were wonderful.I am just going to see if I can find another pulmonologist.

I should start out by saying that Dr. Ackerman is pleasant, and easy to talk to. I have no issue with him as a physician.

However, every time I go to this office, I sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour before I’m taken back to a room. I can understand something like that happening once. Doctors have emergencies or priority issues with which they must deal. But every visit? This indicates that they are over-scheduling appointments. I have a problem with that. They spread themselves too thin, and all patients suffer as a result.

If I was fifteen minutes late to an appointment, they would consider me a no-show and bill me for an office visit. To allow patients to sit waiting that long is very inconsiderate.

I am aware that the majority of the patients in this office are elderly and retired, and don’t have jobs to worry about. But for someone who is employed, and has to answer to a boss about why I was away 2 hours to see the doctor for 5 minutes… It is very complicated to keep this office as a practitioner. They scheduled me for a 6-month follow-up and I am actively seeking another provider so I have ample time to establish a relationship and to get records transferred.

For that reason alone, I do not recommend this practice. If I have to drive to Tampa to find a provider that is a bit more attentive to patient needs, I will do so.

Dr. Ivan Ackerman is a very kind hearted and most caring Physician. His Staff also do their very best to take care of me and my needs.. Very thorough and professional.. I have no complaints thus far.. I am truly Appreciative to the extra time he takes to make sure all my needs for care are in place..
The office is Always busy and the waits may be long on any given day but, it's worth it to me..

I was the 3rd patient of the day. Arriving 30 minutes before my appointment time. I sat in the lobby for about 15 minutes and then sat im the exam room for another 30 minutes waiting to be seen by the facility provider. I could hear the provider seeing other patients that areived AFTER me; which ticked me off pretty bad. I can only assume that the service you receive, is definitely based upon several factors of your insurance [such as :: whether or not its provider by your employer, if its private and you pay the full premium amount every month, if its provided thru the marketplace, if its provided thru the county/city, provided by the state, or if its provided by the federal departments * monthly premium, deductible * co-pay * provider coverage]

I've been seeing Dr Ackerman for a few years....he has been very good for me. There are very very long wait times in the office.... those wait times I do not enjoy.
