Janak is too good in this store.I have never seen such a smart and customer friendly staff in whole DC.I suggest & recommend to visit this liquor shop even the drinks are highly reasonable.

Called the owner. Told him I was on my way to buy a gift. Ran. Got there at 7:59pm (they close at 8pm) and the owner already had the gate down. He was still there when I got there. I tapped on the window, he didn't even acknowledge me. He actually closed early.

Clearly he doesn't need the business and who would want to support a place like this? . I'll never go here again.
Plenty of other better wine shops in DC.

Nice place. Very bright and clean and brand new looking. Friendly staff. My only gripe is that the one aisle they have to get to the back of the store is very narrow. There's no way you can avoid having to walk in front of someone if you're not the only one in the store. Other than that, though, great liquor store. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. Especially for downtown DC.

I went in today and asked if they had kosher wines. The clerk looked at me like I asked him to calculate the square root of pi. I told him it means food or drink been made under rabbinical supervision, on special equipment, etc., but the clerk still had no clue. I stayed for at least 30 minutes using their weak internet signal to try and decipher what I could buy. In the end I purchased two bottles along with some whiskey, but I'll never be back. Not because they didn't know what kosher meant but because he didn't care to look it up, search in their system, ask the other clerk - in the time I was there, no one else came up to offer help. Why run a store when they aren't interested in putting a bit of effort when someone comes in with an unfamiliar request.
