As a Tricare beneficiary, it is highly likely to be more conducive to your overall physical/mental health to spend the money at a non-DoD pharmacy than to attempt to retrieve discounted/free prescriptions from this facility. Every. Single. Visit. Is. Hard.

Why has this problem with enrolling in Genesis at MacDill gone on for nearly 8 months? I have followed every instruction, gone in person to MacDill, listened to the convoluted and terribly inconvenient “temporary fix” of having to go in person to the Pharmacy to activate a prescription that I’ve taken for years, and constantly get into the frustrating loop on line that takes me no where. If this is the USAF’s way of saying, “WE DON’T WANT TO FILL YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS HERE ANY LONGER,” at least have the guts to say so and not put us through this nightmare of a system. Even the nice folks at the Drive through Pharmacy couldn’t explain how to get enrolled.
I have a DOD number that the system will not recognize, no matter what I do….NOW WHAT?
Even more frustrating is there is ABSOLUTELY NO ONE TO TALK TO, EMAIL OR OTHERWISE CONTACT ABOUT THIS UNLESS YOU CAN GET ON THE GENESIS SYSTEM!! And thanking me for my service rings very, very hollow right now!

If there was a rating below one star I'd have selected it. I've spent all morning trying to work through the new portal system. When the portal went down I called the pharmacy. The automated answering service is designed to prevent contact with the pharmacy staff. This is atrocious customer support.

People are nice but staff overwhelmed so wait times typically triple what's advertised. Prepare to be forgotten or lost and you have to wait again. It's best to keep asking every ten minutes or else expect to wait close to two hours. A year ago I would wait patiently but that's a big mistake because you stand a good chance to be forgotten or lost in their system. They have since implemented a new system but end result is wait times the same and staff now have less of an understanding of where you're prescriptions are.

The personal time devoted to each patient is unparalleled. My refill after surgery was estimated at almost a week at Macdill but after talking with a few folks in the pharmacy at Sabel Palm, I got my refill that day. They really do their very best to accommodate every patient.

How can I give 0 stars? They get so rude when you have questions about their pharmacy procedures that make absolutely ZERO sense. Like why is there a pharmacy in the building AND right outside the building. So stupid. Can't wait to PCS so I never have to deal with this poor medical system here at macdill. Everything they do here is another level of inefficient

Command team should be ashamed of the horrible wait times and unsatisfactory scheduling issues with their medical teams. There should be no reason whatsoever that service members are turned away for incompetence at the staff / front desk level
