Best organic vegetables and herbs!!! Worden Farm has the freshest produce I have ever seen and tasted, and they have a huge variety. Their food is significantly better than the organic section at groceries.

First year with a farm stand membership, and so far, I love it! I only have gone once because they just opened for the season, but its great. Lots of variety, nicely organized, fun to attend, organic - which is huge for me, and worth the drive from Cape Coral. I look forward to the remainder of the season!

Wonderful experience... Fresh grown vegetables on a true family owned and run farm... Just that only prepaid members can buy there. Luckily the person I visited with was a member with plenty of room on her account!
FREE Samples of freshly made light snacks prepared by students of a local chef program are offered to all, with printed recipes of each dish, all made from vegetables from the farm.

Amazing!! We get the weekly veggie boxes. They are packed full. At first I thought it may be too much but found that I could use everything. Including the part I cut off before cooking. I now make the most delicious stock from the parts most would throw away. And we have learned how to make dishes we never had before. And have eaten vegetables I never had before. I know we are much healthier. Before you think I have nothing else to do all day but research recipes, I am a super busy human. And most veggies roast great. Which is quick. And leafy greens are great for a dinner salad. Again quick. And I now spiral cut squash in seconds. They don’t take more than a couple minutes to cook. Or if added to a hot sauce don’t need any cooking.
The boxes are wonderful.

Three things about me:

1) I try to eat very healthy
2) I love to cook for me and my wife
3) I have been thoroughly disappointed with the lack of places to buy fresh, local produce since moving to Port Charlotte from Minnesota a few years ago. The only two options seemed to be the Punta Gorda "farmer's market" which is basically just resellers with stands full of Dole fruit from California & Mexico and random street corner produce stands who get their "local" supply from God knows where.

Enter the farm box from Worden Farm. Despite some initial skepticism over the $520 price for 16 weekly boxes ($32.50 a week), I signed up for it last Tuesday and picked up my first box on Wednesday at one of their convenient drop off locations @ Conway & 41.

JAW-DROPPING! The box contained:

2 cucumbers
1 fennel bulb
2 summer squashes
1 head red leaf lettuce
1 head escarole
1 bunch kale
3 sweet bell peppers
1 bunch kina savoy spinach
1 bunch green beans
1 bunch radishes
1 bunch sage
1 head cauliflower

All of this for $32.50. I since went to Publix and priced it out: $45.24 for everything listed above. Based on this sample, Worden Produce is roughly 28% cheaper than Publix!

And Worden is 100x higher quality, truly local, USDA certified organic, picked THAT DAY produce. Each item they gave us tasted infinitely more fresh than anything I've ever bought at a grocery store. I ate a whole cucumber without even thinking about it while unpacking the box!

I can't say enough positive praises for Eva and Chris Worden's organic vegetable farm. I have had a membership for way over 10 years and wouldn't want to live here without it. Thank you.
