Hillcrest Pumpkin Patch was a fantastic destination for our school field trip! The kids had a blast exploring the farm and picking out their perfect pumpkins. The hay ride ride was a highlight, providing a scenic view of the pumpkin patch and surrounding area.

We used to go here every year & it has gone down hill year after year. This year for sure was the icing on the cake to decide that we will no longer be back. We bought round trip tickets thinking we could ride the train down & then get our pumpkins & ride the hay ride & then ride the train back up. That was a big NEGATIVE! We stood in line for a little over 2 hours waiting to board the train!!!! I brought my husband & 3 young children all of which have little to NO patience. While in line we had bees all around us. I’m all for saving the bees but there has to be something to get them away from the people. We didn’t even ride the hay ride or buy food because we didn’t have any patience to do anything after we got off the train. We left immediately after.

$10 parking
$10 each for round trip train ride.
$4 each for hay ride.

This is a cute spot to get some cute fall pictures but other than that we have lost all interest in this place. No longer worth the 5 stars I would have given it even 2 years ago. So sad.

Love going to Hillcrest every year for the pumpkin patch and tree farm. My daughter lives for the train ride. You need to get there just before opening or the lines for everything get incredibly long. We waited for an hour and a half for the train this year because we got there 30 minutes after opening on a Sunday. There were also a TON of bees at the upper lot (where you wait for the train), like thousands of bees. We've never noticed a bee problem before and when we asked the staff about it they said it was because people were dropping their snow-cones. They were also not doing anything to deter the bees, no lids on the trash cans and no traps. Luckily, there were no bee allergies in our group but definitely something to be mindful of if you or someone you're with has a severe bee allergy.

The annual Pumpkin Patch event runs from late September through early November. It is a must see. The entrance fee is a bargain. The parking lots fill up, so they charge per carload to encourage carpooling. It is a beautiful location and its a great spot for kids. The highlight for me are the actual working miniature steam locomotives. If you are lucky, the door to the workshop where they maintain the trains will be open so you can take a peek.

We love Hillcrest, but this year's pumpkin patch was different. They sold tickets for one way or two way for the train. We expected to be able to stay on the train because we paid both ways. After staying in line for almost 2 hours with 2 toddlers, we spent half the time on the train to decide to not wait in line again to go back. Not worth it at all. We only spent our time there waiting in a line and couldn't even visit the patch because our kids were too tired to stay longer. I won't be going back next year and plan on only coming for the xmas PJ party.

Definitely over priced! $10 just to park and $10 to ride the train. It could all be worth it if they had plenty of pumpkins to choose from and better food. The food trucks are garbage. The specifically the one the was selling hot dogs, tri tip sand which and and frito bowl. Everything came out of a can and was bland. The lady taking order ( Hispanic, heavier set with a deep voice ) was racist and definitely wouldn’t come back. The train conductors were nice and hay drivers but that doesn’t make up for over pricing and crappy food

I’ve been here the last few years, and I must say it’s never been a GREAT experience but just… ok…. However this year was bad.. BEES EVERYWHERE. 2 hour wait for the train ride that kept having “technical difficulties”. BEES BEES BEES, and very few food choices, which are not the best quality, but prices could be worst.

Nice spot to get some good fall pictures of the little ones.

I guess this place use to be a lot better because it is NOT worth 4.6 stars.

Great family fun for kids of all ages! This hidden gem is just a short ride away from Fresno in Reedley and will please the whole family. Enjoy fun rides on the train; hayrides; pumpkin patch; live music and plenty of food trucks. Excellent value too. Just $10 entry for the whole car. $5 train ride; $4 hayride and reasonably priced food.
